How Do you Get Rid of Rats

Your options to get rid of rats include:

    1. Property Maintenance

    • Clean up around the property. Cut long grass and clean bushy areas. This reduces the places for the rats to hide and breed. It also makes them more vulnerable to predators.
    • Seal any access points to your property such as holes in the walls or doors, gaps in the roof, facia holes, open drains etc.
    • Properly seal any food sources lying around. For example: pet food, waste food scraps, vegetable garden, etc.

    2. Live Catch

Live catch rodent station: you place a bait inside the station, then the station shuts closed when the rat enters it, trapping the rat.

    3. Mechanical Rat Trap

A mechanical trap with interlocking teeth making escapes virtually impossible. Includes removable bait cup for convenience. With its ferocious grip this mechanical rat trap gives superior trapping power for chemical-free or special situations.

It combines trigger sensitivity with the exact trap velocity needed to capture and hold rats. Safer to use than other rat traps and sets easily by foot or hand.

Its removable bait cup can be withdrawn, filled with an attractant and re-inserted without having the trap set.

    4. Glue Trays and Glue Traps

Rat Glue Trays capture rats and mice without poison, making them ideal to use in food plants, kitchens, restaurants, food processing plants, hospitals, residences, zoos and other sensitive areas where poison is prohibited or discouraged. Features include:

    • Non-poisonous glue traps to capture rats and mice
    • Sturdy, low-profile plastic tray makes it easy for rodents to step into glue
    • Tenacious glue formula captures mice on contact; strong enough to hold a rat

    5. Chemical Poison with Solid Rodenticide

Rodenticide baits are offered to rats from within a locked tamper-proof Bait Station. Kids and pets cannot get inside the bait station so they will not have access to the poisonous rodenticide bait.

    6. Chemical Poison with Liquid Rodenticide (poison drink)

Rodenticide liquid bait is offered to rats from specialty drink station. These can be useful in situations where the rats are not eating the solid baits. Not tamper proof, so kids and pets should be kept away.

    Trapping Rats

Rayco Pest Control eliminates rat pest problems using proven successful methods including

    • Baiting: supplying and installing locked bait stations that contain multiple different professional highly palatable rodenticide baits.
    • Liquid rodenticide drink stations: supply and install a highly palatable liquid poison for rodents. This is used as an alternative in case the rats are not eating the solid baits.
    • Baited snap-traps to catch and kill rats.
    • Live catch stations if the customer prefers this option.

    Rodent Killer Poison

We use multiple highly palatable rodenticide baits (both solid and liquid) which are not available to the general public. Only licensed pest management technicians are able to supply and install these baits. If used correctly, they can be highly effective.

    Rodent Rat Killer

Rats can be killed by either:

    1. Poison baits (rodenticide). We load our locked rat stations with three different rodenticide baits, from different manufacturers and containing different types of poisons. We later then inspect the rodent bait station to check which bait the rats prefer, then offer more of that bait. Our rat extermination effectiveness improves over time.
    2. Snap traps that quickly snap shut and kill or maim the rat when he tried to eat something from the trigger area. You can experiment with a variety of attractants such as peanut butter, blueberry, lemon, etc.

These bait stations or traps need to be in sufficient quantity and positioned correctly in order to be effective.

    Rat Baits

Rat baits purchased from public centers such as bunnings are less effective than that the rodenticide baits available to professional pest management technicians. How to Exterminate Rats

Rats can be exterminated by either:

We also need to remove or seal all alternative food sources.

    Black Rat

The black rat (Rattus rattus), also known as the roof rat, ship rat, or house rat, is a common long-tailed rodent of the stereotypical rat genus Rattus.

    Brown Rat

The brown rat is Rattus norvegicus. It is also known as the common rat, sewer rat, wharf rat, Norwegian rat and Parisian rat. It is a large brown or grey rodent with a head and body length of up to 28 cm long, and a tail slightly shorter than that. It weighs between 140 and 500 gms

    Mice

    Get Rid of Mice

Mice behave differently to rats; however the general approach is the same:

    1. Poison baits (rodenticide). We load our locked rat stations with two different rodenticide baits, from different manufacturers and containing different types of poisons. We later then inspect the rodent bait station to check which bait the mice prefer, then offer more of that bait. Our mouse extermination effectiveness improves over time.
    2. Snap traps that quickly snap shut and kill or maim the mouse when he tried to eat something from the trigger area. We can experiment with a variety of attractants such as peanut butter, blueberry, lemon, etc.

These mouse bait stations or traps need to be in sufficient quantity and positioned correctly in order to be effective. Mice behave differently to rats. This includes their eating and travel behaviors, so we need to design and implement a pest management plan specifically for the mouse problem.
